The Art Gallery of Georgina is a collecting public gallery with a growing permanent collection and an active exhibition and program schedule. We contribute to the cultural life of Georgina and the broader region through thoughtful exhibitions, public programs, and stewardship of our collection.

We’re a small team with a lot underway. The work is varied and hands-on, and we value people who bring energy, curiosity, and a willingness to step in and contribute where needed.

CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES 

Camp Counsellor (Summer Student)

Contract Duration: 8 weeks, Full Time
Start Date: July 29, 2026
Wage: $17.60 per hour
Hours: 35 hours per week

Location: Art Gallery of Georgina, 149 High Street, Sutton West, ON

As an Art Camp Counsellor, you will be responsible for assisting the Art Camp Facilitator/s throughout the week. You will provide outstanding support and instruction, while fostering a fun and encouraging environment for all participants.

This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program (pending approval).

Key Responsibilities

- Ensuring all campers feel welcome and stay safe

- Prepare and execute art and recreational activities, possibly off-site

- Creating and tidying the environment

- Provide instruction and assistance in a manner that takes individual differences in skill and learning styles into account

- Create a fun and inclusive environment for campers

- Work with other counsellors to lead large group games and activities

- Follow camp-wide policies and procedures

- Assist in monitoring inventory, tracking, and organizing camp equipment and art supplies

Eligibility Requirements
• Be between 15 and 30 years of age
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person granted refugee protection
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada
